Admission announcement for B. Tech course in different streams has been unveiled by Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) through Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam (VITEEE) 2018. Students can apply for total 16 streams available at Vellore & 5 at Chennai campus. Test will be conducted in online & offline different sessions of Two & half hour each from April 06, 2018 (tentative) to April 17, 2018 (tentative). Students can get admission in any of the below mentioned departments:
VITEEE is the computer based test (CBT). Students have to book their exam slot on priority basis as per their requirement. Test will be of two and half hour duration with total 120 questions (40 each from Chemistry, Physics & Mathematics). Merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in VITEEE 2018 only.
Students can also take the VITEEE 2018 mock test on VIT’s official website. A dummy login will be given to all registered candidates. It will help them to practice & predict the type of the questions which could be asked in the exam.

Qualifying exam:
Students, who are appearing for VITEEE 2018 must have completed or about to appear in one of these qualifying exams;
10+2 examination of higher secondary level through any of the state board, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or The council for Indian school certificate examination (ICSE).
Two year pre university examination conducted by recognized board.
HSC examination conducted by Cambridge university or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
Students must have completed General Certificate Education (GCE) examination of advance (A) level at London, Cambridge or Srilanka.
Note: Students who have studied through National School of Open Schooling (NIOS) are also eligible for VITEEE 2018.
Age Limit:
Those students are eligible whose date of birth falls on or after July 01, 1994. Age limit will be cross checked through your Xth certificate for authentication purpose.
How to Apply for B. Tech Course

VITEEE application form can be issued in four different ways:
Online mode:
You need to go to the official address of VIT University. Register yourself; you will receive a password on your e-mail. Now login again with the new password & fill all details. A new registration number will be generated. Now pay application fee of INR 960 through net banking/credit or debit card.
Note: If transaction is not found successful due to network error even after the deduction of amount from your account. Please wait for three working days; you can proceed further after receiving the mail from VIT. In case the transaction found incomplete after four working days you should send the mail to ugadmission@vit.ac.in
Apply online for VITEEE 2018
After payment, upload your scanned photograph (3.5 cm to 4.5 cm) & signature (6 cm to 2 cm) in jpg/jpeg format. Do not send any document to the university.
In person:
You can obtain the prospectus in person from any campus of the university by handing over the DD of INR 960 in favor of “VIT university” payable at Vellore.
Offline mode:
Students can also obtain the prospectus & application form through various post offices located all over India by paying INR 990 in cash. Fill the form using a Black ball point pen & shade the bubbles through pencil. Affix the recent colour photograph (Do not attest the photo). Write down the valid e-mail ID & correct test centre. Also fill the details regarding hostel accommodation if you needed.
After filling the computerized OMR sheet properly, write mailing address clearly on the self- addressed envelope & send it through registered post to the university before February 28, 2018.
Note 1: Students, who have applied through DD, have to send the hard copy of Application form (duly filled along with relevant documents) to VIT University.
Note 2: Application forms once sold shall not be taken back under any situation. Fee once paid will not be remitted.
Through Post:
You can also obtain the application form through post be sending a DD of INR 990 in favor of “VIT University” payable at Vellore with a covering letter mentioned for “ The Director UG-admissions” VIT University Vellore- 632014 requesting for the application form. Students should mention their proper correspondence address in the covering letter. After obtaining the receipt of DD application form will be sent by the university on the given address.
Note: Postal charges will be availed by VIT. Students should write their mobile number, name & address on the other side of the DD too.
How to check the status of Application:
VIT University offers the provision to track the status of application for the benefit of students. Once the application will be received at the university, a SMS will be sent to the student regarding confirmation of application. Students can also check the status by signing in to the website by using their Application number; however this facility will be available only after three weeks of dispatch of application.
Slot Booking:
Students who will apply through offline or online mode, their password for slot booking will be sent via mail. So students are advised to provide valid e-mail address in the application form. VIT University offers provision of slot booking in VITEEE through scheduling. Students can choose their test slot according their interest. Students have to choose the test city first (Same as filled in the application form) & then date & session of the test. This facility will be provided on first cum first serve basis to eligible students who have completed their form in all respects.
Note: Keep your slot booking password completely confidential. Do not share it with any one.
Slot booking Procedure:
Log in to website of VIT University. (you should keep photocopy of application form & password)
Select the subject in which you want to take the test.
In case of non-availability of test centre, choose another one.
A confirmation mail will be sent to your e-mail ID, once the slot booking will be done.
After completion of slot booking, admit card will be generated. Take print out of the same & keep it safe.
Admission Process for B. Tech Course

Score of VITEEE 2018 is the only criteria to secure admission in VIT University. After confirmation & allotment of seat you have to make an advance payment of INR 50, 000 in form of DD in favor of “VIT University” payable at Vellore which includes INR 10,000 as counselling fee. Counselling will be held at Chennai & Vellore campus both for all B. Tech. courses.
Note: Although counselling fee is nonrefundable but it can be adjusted in the tuition fee once a student joins the university.
After final confirmation, grades & rank no. retotaling & regarding will be performed.
Note: University will not send call letter to any student whether selected or not, however the rank will be informed through SMS on the number provided at the time of application.

Reservation for B. Tech Course
Reservation:
Relaxation of 10% i.e. 50% marks in aggregate are required for SC/ST & natives of Jammu & Kashmir.
Note: Students hailing from North Eastern states like Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Assam, Mizoram, Sikkim & Tripura have to maintain aggregate of at least 50% marks.
Scholarship Details:
Toppers of each state & central board will get 100% relaxation in tuition fee for all four years of the course.
Students who maintain rank in between 1 to 50 in VITEEE 2017 will get 75% concession in tuition fee.
Students who maintain rank in between 51 to 100 in VITEEE 2017 will get 50% concession in tuition fee.
Students who maintain rank in between 101 to 1000 in VITEEE 2017 will get 25% concession in tuition fee.
