Goa University was established in 1 June 1985 under Act of 1984. It is certified by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) in India with a rating of four stars. Goa University offers graduate and post-graduate studies and research programmes

The University offers the following under graduate UG Programmes in multiple disciplines to its students every year:

Candidate can get admission to the under graduate (UG) courses on the basis of merit  obtained in the Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET), conducted by the state of Goa. Those seeking admission can register themselves for the UG courses by submitting application fee of amount Rs. 1500/- through Demand draft (DD). NRI candidates can also apply by submitting admission fee (one time) of Rs. 1000/- in the form of DD.

Candidate must pass in XII standard or equivalent colleges before 1985 which was affiliated with Mumbai University.

Konkani

Candidate must pass in XII standard or equivalent from any recognized Board of Higher Secondary School.

Marathi

Candidate must pass in XII standard or equivalent from any recognized Board of Higher Secondary School.

Economics

Candidate must pass in XII standard or equivalent from any recognized Board of Higher Secondary School.

Political Science

Candidate should have successfully cleared the HSSC examination of the HSSC Board Goa or boards other than HS.S.C Examination Board Goa

Sociology

Candidate must pass in XII standard or equivalent from any recognized Board of Higher Secondary School.

History

Candidate must have qualified Higher Secondary level examinations or equivalent examinations.

Philosophy

Candidate must have qualified Higher Secondary level examinations or equivalent examinations.

Geography

Candidate must pass in XII standard or equivalent from any recognized Board of Higher Secondary School.

Psychology

Candidate must pass in XII standard or equivalent from any recognized Board of Higher Secondary School.

Journalism

Candidate must pass 10+2 from any recognized Board of Higher Secondary School.

Mass Communication & Videography

Candidate who has pass the 12th standard examination in any stream from Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary education or equivalent.

Mass Media

Candidates must have passed HSSC examination with proficiency in the English Language and communication skills.

Mathematics

Candidate must have studied 10+2 with mathematics Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary education or equivalent.

B.A- B. Ed (Integrated)

Candidate must have passed the XII Arts Examination of Goa Board, or an equivalent examination of any other recognized Board/Institution

BSW

Candidates must have completed their Higher Secondary education.

B. Lib. Sc

Candidate must be graduate in any faculty like Languages and Literature, Social sciences, Commerce, Natural Sciences, Life Sciences and Environment, Engineering, Medicine, etc with minimum 40% aggregate marks at their graduation from any recognized university in India or abroad

Programmes under B. Ed

Education

• Candidate must possess Graduate /Post Graduate Degree Examination of Goa University or an equivalent degree from any recognized university with minimum of 50% of marks (5% relaxation is given to candidates from SC/ ST/ OBC categories.
• Candidates should have taken at least 3 papers in one of the school subjects at their graduation/post graduation for which training is offered.

Physical Education

Candidate must be Graduate in any subject with participation certificate in Games and Sports to get admission.

Special Education

Candidate must have pass XII standard or equivalent examination.

Programmes under B. Sc
International Hospitality Management

Candidate must pass 10+2 with managment as compulsory subject.

Geography

Candidate must pass 10+2 with geography as compulsory subject.

Mathematics

Candidate must pass 10+2 in science with mathematics as compulsory subject.

Physics

Candidate must pass B.Sc programme in physics at Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination conducted by Goa Board or its equivalent.

Chemistry

Candidate must pass B.Sc programme in chemistry at Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination conducted by Goa Board or its equivalent.

Geology

Candidate must pass XII science (Physics/Chemistry/Botany/Zoology) by Goa Board or its equivalent.

Electronics

Candidate must pass in XII in science and in Technical Vocational Subjects also.

Home Science

Candidate must pass B.Sc programme in home science at Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination conducted by Goa Board or its equivalent.

Computer Science

Candidate must have passed XII science with PCM combination and obtained at least 40% aggregate marks in PCB at XII science.

Botany

Candidate must have passed higher secondary with biology as background by Goa Board or its equivalent.

Zoology

Candidates must have Elementary knowledge of Biology at Higher secondary 10+2 level with back ground knowledge of Chemistry.

Microbiology

Candidates must have pass XII in science with physics, chemistry and biology as subjects.

Biotechnology

Candidates must have pass HSSC examination by Goa or equivalent board.

B. Sc - B. Ed (Integrated)

Candidate must have pass 10+2 in science with mathematics as subject.

BCA

Candidate must have passed XII examination in any stream from Goa Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education

Candidate must pass XII standard of Goa Board Commerce regular or Vocational Course with any one of the Vocational subjects of Accounts, Office Management, Insurance, Industrial Management, Marketing & Salesmanship Management, Commercial Garment designing & making, Computer Techniques, Tourism & Travel Techniques or equivalent exam of any other Board

Bachelor of Business Studies

Candidate must pass XII standard in any stream of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or any other equivalent examination recognized by Goa University

• Candidate must be an Indian National.
• Candidate must have passed from Polytechnics or colleges in the State of Goa.
• Candidate must have passed the Diploma in Engineering with minimum 45% of marks (40% in case of SC/ST/OBC) conducted by the Goa Board of Technical Education.

• Candidates must have passed Bachelor of Science Degree with Mathematics as a subject at XII standard with minimum of 45% marks (40%in case of SC/ST/OBC)

LL. B

Candidate must pass in XII standard or equivalent from any recognized Board of Higher Secondary School.

• Candidate must be Indian National and Non-resident Indians must hold Indian passport.
• Candidate must pass 10+2 examination with at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) at qualifying examination by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education with English as subject.

Bachelor in Performing Arts

1. Candidate must pass in Music and Second Year B. Music of Goa University.
2. Candidate must pass HSSC examination with music and also passed Sangeet Madhyama or Higher Examination or any other equivalent diploma of the recognized Music Institution or 3 years foundational training in Music.

Programmes under Integrated MBA

2. Travel & Tourism

Candidate must pass in XII standard or equivalent from any recognized Board of Higher Secondary School.

How to Apply

• Candidate can register themselves for courses by downlaod, print and submit application form by paying application fee of amount Rs. 1500/- payable by DD in favour of “Director of Technical Education” at Panaji – Goa, on any Scheduled Bank.
• Candidates seeking admission to the above mentioned courses must have valid score in GCET-15 and have valid score in National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA).
• Incomplete application form shall not be accepted and if application form submitted after the scheduled date then late fee fine of Rs. 1000/- will be charged with application fee.

1. Two recent, identical passport size photographs
2. Statement of marks of H.S.S.C. (Std. XIIth) or its equivalent examination.

4. Certificate of residence from the Mamlatdar, indicating period of continuous residence (minimum last 10 years) of the applicant in Goa
5. ‘Bonafide student’ certificate (if applicable)
6. Leaving/Transfer certificate from school or college last attended
7. ‘Certificate of Income’ in original issued by Panchayat
8. Non Migrant Caste Certificate
9. Physically Handicapped Certificate (if applicable)
10. OCI /PIO Card /document issued by the Competent Authority for NRI candidates.
11. A certified copy of the passport as proof of being an Indian Citizen

Admission Process

Selection of the candidate will be based on their performance in Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET), a state level entrance test conducted by Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Goa.

Reservation Process

• 15 seats are reserved for the management quota and one seat in over & above intake shall be available to Kashmiri Migrants.
• 2% seats are reserved for the SC category candidates and 12% seats are reserved for the ST category candidates.
• 27% seats are reserved for the OBC category candidates.
