B.Tech in Robotics Engineering Colleges, Syllabus and Scope 2018-19

Bachelor of Technology in Robotics Engineering is a four-year undergraduate program offered by universities/colleges for specialization in the field of robotics. Candidates successfully completing 10+2 or equivalent education in science stream can apply for this course. B.Tech in Robotic Engineering is an interdisciplinary course. Employment opportunities for graduates are available in manufacturing industry and automation industries.

Admissions in Bachelor of Technology in Robotics Engineering can be obtained through entrance examinations conducted at national, state or institutional level. The candidates are required to study subjects such as mechanical designs and kinematics. Average fee of the course is INR 70,000; it is relatively less for government institutes. Candidates applying for the course must have prior knowledge of basic physics.

Although automation and robotics engineering is an area of engineering in its own right, it is really the union of several different areas of engineering. Average salary of the graduated candidates is INR 320,000.

What is B.Tech Robotics ?
Bachelor of Technology in Robotics Engineering is an undergraduate program that requires four years for completion. Robotics is the interdisciplinary branch of engineering and science that comprises of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science and others altogether. Robotics deals with the design, construction, operation and use of robots along with the computer systems for their control, information processing and sensory feedback. Other courses that are similar to this one is offered by many institutes e.g. Automation and robotics engineering and Mechatronics Engineering.

Who should opt for B.Tech Robotics Engineering?
Candidates having special interest in automation and mechanical aspect of machines as well as researching, designing, and building new robots that serve various practical purposes must apply for this course. Having proficiency in programmable logic controllers, programming, mechanical structure design and similar subjects helps candidates gain excellence in the course.

Eligibility for B.Tech Robotics Engineering
The candidate applying for the course must complete 10+2/equivalent examination with minimum 55% aggregate in PCM/PCB. The candidates who have completed a diploma in robotics technology or automation technology can also apply for this course through lateral entry. Along with these requirements the candidates are to appear for entrance examinations to get admitted into robotics engineering course.

Admission process for B.Tech Robotics Engineering:
The admission processes vary from institute to institute and/or state to state. Most of the colleges require the candidate to qualify an entrance examination to get admission in B.Tech Robotics Engineering. Candidates who are currently appearing or have completed 10+2 or equivalent examination are eligible to appear for these entrance examinations.

IIT JEE Mains
JEE Main is an all India common engineering entrance examination of the objective pattern which is led for admission in engineering colleges and courses all over the country. It is thought of as one of the most challenging engineering admission tests. JEE main score is used by almost all the engineering colleges across India. IITJEE mains entrance examination for B.Tech and B.E. (Paper I) has an objective type questions with equal weightage to Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics.

SRM University Joint Engineering Entrance Exam: This Entrance Exam is conducted to offer admission into various Undergraduate courses. SRMJEEE is University level examination conducted to offer may engineering courses across four campuses of SRM University. SRM University conducts both Offline and Online exams. SRM University also provides scholarships for the top scorers of SRMJEEE.

Direct admissions:
Direct admission through management quota is offered by almost all the colleges. Government engineering colleges do not offer direct admission due to absence of management quota.

Lateral entry:
The candidates having a diploma in robotics technology course or automation technology can get admission into B.Tech Robotics Engineering course through lateral entry. The candidates are provided admission in the course directly from the third semester.
