Direct MBA Admission through Management Quota

Many Private MBA colleges and B-Schools have set-aside a ‘Management Quota’ from the total pool of seats available with them. Management Quota seats are special seats on which candidates are offered admission through recommendation of the college administration. Generally, there is some amount of monetary donation or recommendation from senior management required to grab a Management Quota Seat in B-schools across India. 


Guidelines for Management Quota Seats in B-schools


Different states have different norms and guidelines with regards to the number or percentage of seats that can be reserved under Management Quota. For instance, in Maharashtra only 20% of the total seats available can be reserved under Management quota as per DTE Maharashtra guidelines. Additionally, B-schools offering direct MBA admission through management quota need to advertise the same in leading dailies, as part of the admission process. Other states such as Karnataka, Tamil Nadu etc, have their own guidelines which prescribe the number of seats that can be allotted under Management Quota.


Direct MBA Admissions for NRI or PIO Candidates

Just like Management Quota Seats, several private B-schools also have NRI Quota seats that are reserved and are offered for admission to only NRI or PIO Candidates. Therefore, NIR or Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) candidates can approach such B-schools to get direct MBA Admission to the programme. Candidates must note that while not many top MBA colleges in India would offer direct admission to NRI candidates, several AICTE approved private B-schools, which have NRI Quota defined, offer admission to Foreign nationals, NRI candidates, PIO candidates.
